The safety and security of children attending our club is a very important matter and everyone concerned has a part to play. This policy has four parts setting out the responsibilities of everyone involved with the club; parents, guardians, children and staff.

1. Responsibilities of parents/guardians

  • Making sure that the contact details they have provided to the club are correct and that club staff are told about any changes immediately.
  • Children should arrive between 8 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. at the latest.
  • Children must be collected no later than 3.30 pm OR 5:30 pm (dependent on part or full day booking) to avoid penalty payments. After £3.30 a charge of £5 will be due and after 5.30 a charge of £10 for the first 10 minutes will be due, plus an extra £1 for every minute after the initial 10 minutes has expired.
  • Notifying PSCL via telephone (numbers shown above) if their child/ren are not attending for a booked session for any reason by 9.00 a.m. Please note that refunds cannot be given for cancelled sessions unless one weeks’ notice is given in writing to bookings@parallelsportscoaching.co.uk. Alternative dates will be offered by PSCL if possible.
  • Letting club staff know if they have any concerns about their child/ren relating to the club.
  • Gaining access to the building to collect their child/ren ONLY via the school reception and not asking children or other parents/guardians to let them in.

2. Responsibilities of children

The children are responsible for upholding the club rules and values. The children are responsible for listening to club staff, including when they are told which parts of the school they may play in because this may be different on different days. For example, they may not be able to play outside everyday, particularly during poor weather. The children will have a range of activities they can engage in, on a daily rotational basis, and they must follow the direction of the club staff that organise these activities.

Children must not leave the area they are playing in without telling a member of the club staff.

3. Responsibilities of Club staff

Club staff are responsible for:

  • Checking with the PSCL management whether any messages have been left about non-attendance.
  • Registering all pupils who are attending the club between 8:00 am and 9:30.
  • Checking on non attendance of any child via phone call to parents/guardians after 9:30 am
  • Ensuring children play in a safe way and do not take unnecessary risks while attending the club.
  • Recording any incidents or accidents that may occur accurately, and discussing these on the same day with the person who collects the child concerned.
  • Ensuring that there is always a minimum of 2 members of club staff on site at all times.
  • Ensuring that at all times at least one member of the club staff is aware of the whereabouts of each child during the session.

Parallel Sports Coaching Holiday Club terms and conditions:

  • Only children whose parents have completed the online registration form will be able to attend.
  • Parents/Guardians are required to telephone the Lead Coach before 9:00 am if their child is not attending.
  • Children must be collected by their Parent/Guardian as no child will be allowed to leave the premises alone. In the event of another person collecting the child, the PSCL team must be informed by the parent/guardian IN ADVANCE by the above phone numbers.
  • Children are expected to play with the toys/use the school and resources in an appropriate manner and are required to tidy them away at the end of the session.
  • Repeated disobedience and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and the Club reserves the right to terminate the contract if this occurs regularly. Parents/Guardians will be required to collect their child if this occurs repeatedly in one session/day and no refund for the session/day will be due. Wherever possible parents will be notified in advance if their child cannot return to the club - in this instance, no refund of future sessions will be due.
